Where is everyone going to stay on the wedding night?
I am trying to decide-- go back to my apartment & save money OR (the preferred idea) Go to a hotel
If you are staying at a hotel-- which one did you choose?
****For those of you that have stayed at the Garden City hotel OR the Inn at Fox Hollow (Bridal Suite) what are your impressions?

FH & I have lived together for almost 2 years. I would really like to do something different such as stay at a hotel. I was thinking Wyngate Inn or the Inn at Fox Hollow. Not really sure yet.

I was also thinking of the Fox Hollow-- I am not familiar with the Wingate. Where is that?

The Wingate Inn is on Stewart Avenue in Garden City right by Roosevelt Field Mall. It is past the Garden City Cafe heading North.
It has gotten great reviews on here and FH's sister stayed there after her wedding.

Re: Where is everyone going to stay on the wedding night?
we got a room at the same hotel where we had our room block.
it was great!! we got a complementary bottle of champaigne and a fruit/cheese platter waiting for us.
some of our oot guests dropped off our gifts at the hote, they brought them up for us. so everything was waiting for us.
my entire family was in the hotel (my family was all oot) so i loved having breakfast with them all the next morning before everyone flew home.

I just called The Inn at Fox Hollow and I got a good rate with the AAA discount....... it doesn't include champagne and strawberries.... but I don't like chamagne anyway. I think all their suites has a kitchen with a fridge-- so maybe a bottle of wine and strawberries will be planted earlier in the day.........

Re: Where is everyone going to stay on the wedding night?
we will be living in an apt upstairs from my parents after the wedding - so my parents have offered to get us a night at the garden city hotel since we cant stay in my parents' house on our wedding night, lol
my cousin stayed at the winngate and said it was fantastic! i will be booking rooms there for my guests but i dont want to stay in the same hotel as them! ((altho FH's uncles swear they will be staying in the suite WITH us ))

Can I ask you how much they quoted you with AAA? FH has AAA . Also, was it for the bridal suite?

I think I want to go back to our place for the night so that I can eventually have a comfortable night's sleep after all of our excitment has died down. I don't sleep well in hotel beds.

Re: Where is everyone going to stay on the wedding night?
We're [hopefully] staying in a suite at the Islandia Marriott, as long as our contact/event manager at the hotel does not screw it up (again). They have made it very difficult for guests to book in advance and we may have to cancel our whole block of rooms and go somewhere else. So....to make a long story short, we are shacking up in a hotel on LI somewhere.
