Looking at egem's BEAUTIFUL post about taking pieces of her moms dress and making a veil with it, I wanted to ask all you girls..
Where is your mom's wedding dress right now?
My mom bought her wedding dress off the rack in 1975-I think she spent like 200 bucks on it. Anyway, you know what she did with her dress afterwards?? A few months later she cut the bottom so it was more of a mini dress, and went to Studio 54 as a bride on Halloween. The dress and veil got trashed during a wild night out and I think she ended up just throwing it all away in the garbage the next morning.
How hilarious is that?

Before my mom and my dad got divorced my dad went on a drinking binge and burned everything thing that was personal to her!! It is very sad for her. Sorry to be a dpwner on this one!!

In a box in the closet. My grandma wore it, then my mom. I would have loved to wear it but my mom was 5'3 and 90 lbs when she got married, so there is no way me or my sister were fitting into that puppy!

My Mom was married the first time in Cuba. There post communism, they rented dresses. She had a gorgeous gown. I never saw anything like it.
Fast forward to the 70's - she met my Dad and they got married- both were getting married for the second time. My Mom wore this GORGEOUS halter dress and it fits me!!!!! I am thinking of asking her if I can wear it on the honeymoon or something.

My Mom got hers back in 1968... a whopping $50!!LOL. It was a mini skirt....def NOT the same style as me. HAHA. She still has it in her closet, with her veil, but she never stored it properly, so thus it's sorta yellow tinted. She's thinking of hand bleaching it... We'll see if that evr happens lol

my mom still has her's in the bag hanging in my parents basement.....it is so 80's with the long sleeves and the high collar......even still has the veil in a plastic bin the kind that had to be pinned in...not using any of it for my wedding....didn't think to use the lace or anything

my mom still has hers at home... she put it back on when i got engaged and showed me.... i then tried it and it wouldnt fit over my wide asss n hips

Haha thats an awesome sorty. My moms dress is in the basement in a box. When my sister and I were little we opened the box to play dress up so now the dress has turned a lovely shade of yellow

My mom's is in a box in our guest room closet. She offered it to me, but its not only several sizes to small, it also fastens around the neck. I won't even wear turtlenecks, I hate things tight around my neck.

My mom still has hers but she got married in the woods in 1969 I think. .. .and it was beautiful but soooooo not wedding dress looking. .a nice white shirt with a long skirt and matching top/vest that was dark red and purples, and kind of quilted looking. . so i DID NOT ask her to borrow it. . .
