South of Smithtown on 347 - thus, it's name - Nesconset Highway

So you think it is at least 30 minutes from Bellmore? Is it a good area?

I'd call it mid-Suffolk. It's probably 60 miles from NYC. I like Nesconset. I live less than half mile from the Nesconset border.

Yes western suffolk...but more central suffolk ish I think. Its a very good area. I think taxes are a little high though. Smithtown is right next to Nesconset and is nice too.

Our friends have a beautiful house in Nesconset that they bought last year in a really nice area.

I was just out there this past weekend...It was 40 minutes from Levittown on a Sunday afternoon with no traffic

I grew up in Nesconset, and while it is a great town and part of the Smithtown school district (very good) there is ALWAYS traffic on 347.

imo let's face it..there is now traffic everyone..you can't avoid it.

ANd nesconset is split,so depending on where the house is you could be goign to smithtown or sachem...both are very good
Sachem i believe is the largest in the state

It's true, there is traffic everywhere- but the amount of traffic in that specific area has increased dramatically in the past 10 years. That was part of the reason why my parents left, and one of the points in my 'negative' collum about buying a house there, so I thought it was important to share considering he asked how far it was. It can take 30 mins. just to get to the Northern State from Nesconset when it's rush hour.

yea this is probably true..
the traffic now is insane
