Where is your ceremony being held?

Is anyone not getting married in a church, and also not getting married at their reception cite? If so where are you getting married?; or Do you know of any place in the Nassau area (judges home, mansions etc) that will just hold a ceremony?

You can try a museum or even a public park. I'm sure u need to get a permit.

yes a museum is what we have booked so far, but we're thinking about changing b/c they don't move you inside in case of rain. They only provide tenting, and I'm now not liking the tenting part

Not much help here, since I am using a friend's waterfront home for the ceremony.

At Sands Point, you can only get married outdoors, according to their website.

We're having the same problem as you - trying to find a really nice place outside of our hall to get married indoors.

i got married on the brooklyn bridge. no permit needed but you would have to speak to the manager in charge of nyc bridges and tunnels. he'll let you know if that date is available for your event. why? just in case there's constructions work being done or filming or...

i love that bridge!

Not in Nassau, but I got married at the Fire Island Lighthouse. If it had rained, we would have had the ceremony in the Keeper's quarters.

With all the logistical problems I am having trying to pull this off, I'm not sure you would want to use it! IE: no parking, need valet or shuttle bus, no back-up plan for rain, need to rent chairs or make the guests stand through the ceremony, guests will be seated BELOW us on a dock just above water level, with limited space, getting down to the dock requires walking down stairs without a railing. The list goes on and on and on. Why, you ask am I going through all of this? The location is outstandingly beautiful, and all the photographers we have met with have convinced FH he must have daytime pics (and I really don't want to be seen before heading down the aisle).
