Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

I think we're ready to start to look for the bridesmaids dresses and I'm not sure where to start looking?

I haven't been a bridesmaid in years so what is the average rate for a dress?

Re: Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

I am not sure where you live...but I am going to use Fantasia Rocky Point ~ I think $150.00 - $175.00 is the average for a BM dress...That is what I have been seeing!

Re: Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

I've had bad experiences with David's Bridal and wanted to stay away. To be fair, it was mostly with the alterations, not with the dresses themselves. We just got ours this weekend at the wedding center in commack. They had a huge selection, though it's a pain to look at all of them because they're zipped up in bags. They do have books of all the dresses and I would suggest, if you go there, to look through the books and have them go get the dresses that you like for you.

The average price is about $150, but our dresses came out to less than that (132 MOH dress and 116 BM dress)

Re: Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

I took my girls looking (well, two of them) at Burton's in Melville. They had a good sized selection.

I ended up ordering from somewhere else though since they had them for a lot cheaper.

Re: Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

I'm actually taking my Bridesmaids to Fantasia bridal in Rocky Point on Saturday. Not sure if we will order from them, but I know they do a fantastic job of alterations if we order online to save money.

Re: Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

$120-$150 is good.

I went to MACY's Bridal Salon to look at dresses. They have a large selection, once I found the dress I liked I ordered it from Burton's, they were able to give me a better price there.

Re: Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

try netbride.com - they were amazing!! the prices of our bridesmaids dresses were $50 cheaper than the cheapest store and NO TAX!! They were delivered a month ahead of time and were perfect!! Delivery charge was $20 TOTAL!! The girls just need to get professionally measured, then check the size list of the company, and order your dresses. I even had them send one dress to Arizona - not a problem at all. For alterations, the girls can go wherever they like. Most alterations are just for length. I HIGHLY recommend them. Go to the site, you can request a price. GOOD LUCK

Re: Where should I look for Bridesmaid dresses?

Where you bought yourdress is a good place to start.... If you have your dress already....

usually bridal places give a discount to their brides if they also get the dresses there... I got a 10% discount... not terribly much, but it was $20.00 less than it would have been....

i also looked at estelle's dressy dresses (they only carry the mon cheri line), bridal reflections in massapequa, i ended up getting them at lillette's in baldwin where i got my dresses.... it was just easier that way....
