We will prolly have about 200ppl, would LOVE it on the water, we would like to keep it under or around 50-120 a person, anytime in april-july 2008,
We are going to look at Cheateau la mer Lands end & Flowerfields (mom works with the owners) VYC (i think) Maybe a Lessings (fam friend know the owners )

bridgeview yacht club marina del ray
isn't marina del rey a little expensive?
also JAMNIKE-you said lands end which is also a bit expensive but you did say your mom knows the owners so maybe youll get a good price
bridgeview yacht club will be around the price you are looking for, i had heard someone was quoted $115 pp for a july sat night wedding
Chateau la mer will also be your price
ive never been there but i am going in july to a wedding at the riviera, also heard their prices are great, you might want to check it out

Re: Where should we look for a reception?
CLM would be in your price range, as would most Lessings - Riverview, West Sayville Country Club, Timberpoint, Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling College are on/near water. Captain Bill's Bayview House in Bay Shore is built out on a pier and is in your price range as well. Land's End and Flowerfields are gorgeous but unless your mom can get a really good deal, they are quite expensive! Good luck in your search!

Re: Where should we look for a reception?
My girlfriend is getting married at Land's End next June and I think it is def. do-able to keep it in that price range for that time of year...especially if your mom knows someone. They do an AMAZING job! I can't wait until her wedding.

My friend was quoted $210 p/p (including tax and gratuity) for a Saturday night in October, which is considered their 'off' season. flowerfields is slightly more. HTH!

yeah i know ppl who were quoted that much too, well i heard about $175 without tax and gratuity so it would equal that price...same for flowerfield

We also are not having any alcohol so that bring the price down as well. That is one thing that the FH is very insistant on and i totally understand.
Im just so picky! lol I looked at larkfield online but the ceilings look so low, jons clostrophobic ( i dont know if i spelt that right) so kinda need to have airy rooms :( i suck lol

Re: Where should we look for a reception?
Land's End and Flowerfields 'off' season is considered Jan, Feb, Mar, April, Nov and Dec. There slightly off season is considered May and October...there prime months are June - Sept.
There min guest count is like 185 for Saturday nights and like 150 for Fridays and Sundays.
Those prices of $210 and $175 must be for the prime months...and yes Flowerfields is very slightly more expensive.
I added on and extra 1/2 hour to CH, + the jewel of the sea (seafood) at CH, an extra hour at the end plus the vienesse and I'm paying less than $210pp including tax and 18% gratuity...but...I'm a Sunday in April...HTH.

For Lands End and Flowerfield - consider a Friday night in April - your price range is definitely doable then! I think it's about $115 pp then... plus tax and gratuity... But with your mom's connections you never know!
Def Bridgeview for a Friday night would be better (they have a club there on Saturday nights)..
Riviera in Massapequa too - I think we were quoted $110 pp for a Sat night in June - BUT, the 200 people would be tight...
If you are not set on waterfront - consider a hall that's on a golf course, the scenery is still beautiful!

Ditto and I'm on a Friday in June at Lands End....
Oh, and I only have an hour added on the whole affair, not 1.5 hours...

Re: Where should we look for a reception?
yea a fam friend had their wedding there and that was the first thing i noticed was how open it was. I just hate when its all closed in.
Plus my mom is a florist, shes been planning my wedding flowers since i was a fetus, they are gonna be HUGE so it would be crazy with low ceilings :(
