Where to buy invites?

Where to buy invites?

I have no idea where to get invites from. Is it smarter to buy them online and go somewhere to get them. I'm a little nervous about doing it online cause i think I'd like to see them for real before ordering them.

Also, what's the average price for invites? I will need to order about 150.

What are some websites you girls have used and were happy with? Where are some places any of you have ordered invites from?

Look online, most of the sites will send you a sample for free, some you have to pay for but it's what we did... of course then I picked pocketfolds and DID NOT like the price... So I ended up doing DIY. the price goes by invite (design and such). Some sites let you choose a price range then show you all of the ones that fall into that catagory. Remember that each 'part' of the Invite is a separate price... don't be shocked when you see your total...

Can you tell I spent to much time looking at invites?

I didn't feel comfortable ordering online, so I went to Proper Papers in Plainview. They had a HUGE selection and I found mine there after searching for a long time! I had my invitations in my hands just one week after approving the proof. That might have just been the vendor that I used, but the ladies there were sooo helpful!

I had a very good idea about what I wanted so it made looking a lot easier. I must have looked for 6 months before I found what I liked, in a hole in the wall wedding shop I happened upon.

Do you know what you are looking for?

I ordered them from 1800tuxedos in farmingdale, ny. You can go there and see them in person before you order them. FM if you need any more info.

check out etsy.com Some vendors on there do beautiful invitations. They will send you samples. I ordered some samples and they are beautiful. I ended up deciding to make my own, but I was considering using a vendor on etsy. Check it out. They are really different. Good luck.

I got great ones from 'Have You Heard?' on Merrick Road in Bellmore - she works with your budget and they came really quick!

i used to do ads for them in the local paper and man their stuff was beautiful!! I always loved the cake that's their logo!

I have to say about the invites, i just ordered a few samples and am not impressed with the paper quality for any of them! They're all flimsy and crappy. Make sure to order samples or check them out in person 1st...or better yet....DIY!

I'm confused. If your wedding is in one year, why are you thinking about the invitations?

What's wrong with looking for invitations now? I obviously know the date and time of everything, it'snot going to be changing.

Plus, I want to be able to shop around and find the most beautiful ones for the cheapest price.

thanks to the rest of you girls, I'm going to check these sites/places out.

Re: Where to buy invites?

I know enough people who ordered samples online and were really disappointed with the quality, so I wanted to go see hundreds of invites in person and decide that way, rather than wait for sample after sample in the mail. I went to Invitations by Joan and she was fabulous. Very good at pointing us towards what was right for us, and her prices were great.

I got my invites online from Invitations by Dawn and was very happy with the quality and the pricing. I got samples from a few different companies and kept coming back to Invitations by Dawn.

Good luck!! There are plenty of good places out there. I made my own because the price for similar ones (which is what I wanted) wer astronomical I am not crafty at all, but I gave it a try. It does take time and patience Lots of it but I love my invites.
