Where to buy really, really good tulle for veils?

After seeing all the veils in the stores and actually pulling out my own from 37 years ago, I am seriously considering making my daughter's. I don't have to tell you how expensive they are, and they are incredibly easy to make. My daughter doesn't want edging or decorations on it.
The fabric concerns me. I'm not going to settle for the $2 netting in fabric stores. I'd like to go to the city and buy really good tulle.
I need 102 inch wide ivory tulle, maybe in silk. After that I don't know much.
Can anyone tell me where I might go and what I should be looking for?

Definately go into the city.

I got my veil at a place called C & H In Manhattan, it was referred to me by another bride on here, and before you know it alot of us on LIW were all going to the city for our veils!, they custom made it and it was amazing. My photographer when fixing my veil in photos even said to me, your veil is made really well & is good quality.
He said he sees alot of cheap ones that aren't made good and dont feel as nice as mine did.

The veil places are around W 40th St.
