So I am sure many of the invites (for various reasons) cannot be scanned through the mail machine. If this is the case, where did some of you ladies drop them off? At the post office window? Or did you put them directly in a standard mail box?

Re: Where to drop off invites?
I went to the window had them weighed again. Then they gave me the stamp to hand cancel then I gave them back the stamp and the invites

Re: Where to drop off invites?
I think after hand cancelling, my mom just handed them to the guy behind the counter

They make you hand cancel them yourself???? That seems odd to me (isn't that the post office job)? Maybe I am missing something?

Re: Where to drop off invites?
Not every post office even lets you hand cancel, and frankly, I would not trust them to hand cancel them all.
It is best to do it yourself

Re: Where to drop off invites?
just out of curiousity, what can the post office 'mess up' on invites? I mean the possibilities of it getting thrown around while in cargo are endless (sorry) but like, where they stamp them, I dont think I will have a rhinestone there so it wont really matter right?????

Re: Where to drop off invites?
I am glad I am not the only one who was confused by this hand canceling thing.
Because many invites are hard/thick or have embellishments, they cannot go through the mail machine and have to be hand cancelled. I thought it was interesting that some people had done this themselves. Beacause I would think the post office would want to have controll of them -- we aren't post office employees afterall.
I completely understand wanting to get them to their locations. But they are charging us EXTRA for hand handeling and we end up doing it ourselves? Seems comical to me, but not unbelievable.

Re: Where to drop off invites?
I mean, no one is forcing you to hand cancel!
It just looks nicer on the envelope and hopefully ensures that your invite arrives in one piece!

Re: Where to drop off invites?
I can't believe your post office had you hand cancel! That doesnt make anyyyy sense.. the post office in hicksville did all of mine for me.. and quoted me a lower price for my postage! I saved 70 bucks! lol
