Where to Register?

Where to Register?

Where is a good place to register? has anyone done bloomingdale's? i have always wanted to register there. I once went to fortunoff for a friend's registry and the experience was so bad that i dont want to send my guests there... no one would help me, they would not help me find stuff in my price range, a lot of the stuff i tried to purchase was damaged (like some crystals were falling off the picture frames). Anyone have any suggestions? thanx...

if what you want is a high end store to register at, Bloomingdale's is probably a good choice. Although I don't know if they have such a large selection of home stuff.

I have found none of the places with registeries clearly state the item or the location if you print it out in the store. Now Bed, Bath & Beyond and Fortunoff have pictures on their website so if someone prints them out from home its easier to find! I think where you register depends on you - if you want a high-end place and like Bloomies, go for it. I liked Bed, Bath & Beyond b/c people could use coupons and C&B because DH loved all the fun beer mugs and things like that. There are SOOO many places to register at, it all depends on what you're into. Good luck and have fun with it!

Re: Where to Register?

I honestly feel like no one has a great registry. I have had problems almost everywhere.

I would register where you like to shop and where they have the most items you want.

PS - Bloomingdale's has a great home department. If you decide to register there - def go to the one in the city. It's 10 x better than Roosevelt Field or Walt Whitman mall.

We did Fortunoffs and Target. Target gets a bad rap but I never had any problems and there are Targets everywhere (different states) and theres something for everyone in different price ranges!

We looked at Bloomingdales (in Roosevelt Field) and honestly there was nothing much there...nothing that I couldn't get in Fortunoff.

I am registered at Fortunoff, Crate and Barrel, Macys and Bed Bath and Beyond

We did BB&B and Fortunoff. The only reason we did Fortunoff is they have the dishes we LOVE and no one else does. But that's all we did there. Everything else is BB&B all the way!

I did only fortunoff and I wish I did crate and barrel also. I seem to be having trouble with my registry at fortunoff. People are calling my mom telling her that they bought things and they did not come off the registry. This happened three times so far. Then a lot of my things were discontinued and people had to tell my mother about it. They should have sent me a letter. My fine china is back ordered for 12 weeks and no one is buying it.

Re: Where to Register?

I'm registered at Bloomingdales, Fortunoff's and Crate and Barrel. Because most of our guests are not from the NY area, we decided to do the bulk of our registry with Bloomingdales. I'm very happy with their selection of products and they were very helpful when we registered.

We registered at Fortunoff so far. They have a pretty big selection to choose from. I think we are also going to register at Bed, Bath and Beyond. When I went to Linens n things - no one wanted to help us even get started with the registry, so that put a bad taste in my mouth to start.
