where to shop

where to shop

I've tried doing a search and maybe I'm not putting in the right words, but I'm looking for places to get my dress. I went to David's Bridal this weekend, I want to go to Bridal Reflections and Macy's. Is there any other places you'd recommend? Also, I'm so clueless, how many places should you go to? Or should I just find a dress I like and see who has it for less? Thanks !

It really depends upon how much you are looking to spend.

I wouldn't pass up going to Kleinfeld though!

I just heard about Kleinfelds today- I would like to go. It's in Brooklyn, right?

I am afraid to go to Kleinfelds, because I know I will fall in love with a dress that is $20,000! I went to centereach bridal suite, bay shore bridal suite- Both places are nice, they have good selections and the people are helpful.
Good luck!

Re: where to shop

Try Commack wedding center - I thought they had a great selection of reasonably priced gowns. I shouldn't have gone to Kleinfelds because I fell in love with a gown that was 5x more expensive than the one I ended up buying and now I can't stop thinking about it!

Re: where to shop

it is so important, when you're on a budget and dress shopping to let the salon know your budget BEFORE you try on gowns...one of my friends went dress shopping and narrowed her choices down to 3 gowns...one was $900, the other was about $1500 and the last was $4000...I would have been DEVASTATED if that was me, because you all know which one she picked and my budget doesn't stretch that far!

I'm not sure what your dress budget is, but I highly recommend the Wedding Salon of Manhasset. If you are looking to spend under 2K, it is not a good place to go.

I recommend Lillette's in Baldwin. They have been so nice and helpful there!

I was all over the island at 12 differnt places. The last place I went to was Bridal Suite in Centereach. Debbie there is wonderful! She knows what she is doing and is caring about her work and the bride. I got my dress, bridesmaids and my moms dress there. We had absolutely no problems with anything. They had a great selection there. If you are in the area, check them out! They come highly recommended by me!

Don't get fustrated. I went all over the island and I thought I would never find a dress.

I went to David's, Macy's, The wedding Salon, Bonaventure, Adrienne's, Lillette's Rkbridal,

and my last and final destination was Kleinfeld's. I am glad I went to kleinfeld's last because by then I knew exactly what looked good and what didn't.

I would suggest going there. They tell you that the dresses start at $1800 but the dress I ended up getting was alot more in my budget. even the saleswoman was surprised what I found.
If you don't end up getting your dress there that is fine but you should really just go for the experience.
