Where to Shop

hi - can anyone suggest places to go for wedding gowns? planning on taking a day off from work on a weekday to go shop and looking for a bunch of places that are close together so i can go easily from shop to shop.

have already been to wedding world, wedding center and bridal reflections.

looking for places that will just let me try on dresses and bridesmaids dresses without rushing like crazy!

thanks!

ETA: i'm looking for pick-up dresses if anyone knows where they have a larger selection!

I'm ordering mine from Lillette's in Baldwin. If you go, ask for Geri.

If you are willing to trek into the city then i suggest RK bridal its at 39th st between 8th and 9th avenue during a workday it's relatively empty you will be able to try on many dresses with no rush. If you go on a weekend thats a different story.

I don't know of many places since I have just started my search, but I think it's a great idea to go on a weekday. You will not be rushed and there won't be millions of other girls. I went for bridesmaid gowns on my lunch break on weekdays, and it was very calm!

I went to:

David's Bridal (Westbury)
RK Bridal (Manhattan)
Macy's Bridal (Manhattan)- where I also ordered my dress.

I reccommend all the them! I had great experiences!

I love Carmela's Bridal Garden in Huntington!

I can't say enough about them and their alterations have always come out perfect for me. I have used them on various occasions and it's always a meticulous, consistent job well done...and she's reasonable and can get you pretty much any dress you may like!

She is custom making my junior BM dresses...I just can't say enough about her!

Village Bridal was nice they had a decent selection. Not sure about the Bridal Suite and and Paradise Bridal is good to try on but DO NOT order your dress from them.
