Any recommendations on good dress places for my mom? She is not into the head-to-toe sequins look or the frumpy-mom look. Thanks!

Both my mom and a co-worker of my mom found their dresses at the same store

The Elegant Bride
1188 Willis Avenue
Albertson
(516) 484-0599

Gloria, a salesperson and seamstress there, was great!

Down the block is another store that sells beautiful gowns - a bit pricey though.

Filly's

Good luck!!

Lord & Taylors

My mom just got her dress at Lord & Taylor too! They were having some pretty badass sales last weekend cause of President's Day.

My mom and grandmother both got their dresses at Elegant Bride. It is a great store. Filly's also has beautiful things. Not sure where you live, but Hartley's in Westwood, New Jersey and Millie's in West Orange have amazing things! My MIL got hers at the Millie's and several friends have used Hartley's.

Re: Where to take Mom shopping?

I too have to second Sugar Plum. I forgot about them. A lot of women rave about their dresses because they're one of a kind. MY Aunt loves that store for herself and she took my cousin there for her prom dress as well.
