Where's a good, fairly close place for an overnight bachlorette party?
Any suggestions? I'm looking for driving distance, a spa would be nice, and somewhere to go out to a bar or two. I'm thinking about the hamptons but is that good in late Sept?

Newport RI is GORGEOUS! It's about 3hrs away. There's lots to do and there are some really cute bars (the Red Parrot!)
As for the Hamptons IMO- the place shuts down after Labor day! You'll be there by yourselves...

What about Fire Island. I went there for my sisters Bachlorette party last year & we had a blast. We didn't stay over but I know there are hotels.

The new hotel in AC - the Borgata sounds like it has a beautful spa!!!! 20,000 square feet I wan tot check that out. The weekend rates should go down a bit after labor day.
There's a Marriott in Mystic, CT also has a spa.
Or what about coming into Manhattan? There's lots of great spas and things to do!!

I second Newport! I went to school near there, and the bars are always good, no matter what time of year!! Hotels are great, and you can get better prices in September than if you go now. They usually have great packages too, that can include dinner. Some good bars are Aidans, Rhino Bar, Star Bar, the Garden, and Christies has a really nice outdoor bar (but that depends on the weather). There is a spa at the Hyatt Regency which is on Goat Island (in the Newport harbor) called the stillwater spa.

I'm not a huge AC fan, but have been there dozens of times and always manage to have fun. I do want to check out Borgata though...it's supposed to be like the casinos in Vegas...which I'm more a fan of.
I was going to suggest Foxwoods...it's soooo much nicer than AC...IMO. There is always Mystic, CT close by...about 30 mins away. I've stayed at the Mystic Marriott and it is really nice.

franksbride - we were in the casino of the Borgata the weekend it openned. It is really beautiful - nothing like the other casinos in AC!!

If you are going with Mystic, Ct, there is also Mohican Sun Casino. I believe it has a spa. Check their website.
