Are most people staying in a hotel/honeymoon suite type thing, or are people going back home? What hotels have nice suites in Suffolk County?

The Marriott Marquis in NYC and stay there a few days and then off to Tahiti over the summer. Fh is a teacher- so we r taking the honeymoon a few months later which is fine with me because we will be more relaxed and not as tired then right after the wedding.

We're staying at the Inn at Quogue - we checked out the rooms (even the 'honeymoon suite) at the The Bath & Tennis where we're having the reception but they were pretty gross! I've warned my guests that if they choose to stay here the rooms are not the nicest!

We're getting married at Danford's and will be staying there that evening. (The bridal suite for your wedding night is part the package.)

Re: Where's everyone staying for their wedding night?
We're getting married on a Sunday, staying in the HM suite at the JFK Sheraton. We get the HM suite for free on our wedding night because we have other outta town guests staying there too. We'll have a Brunch w/those guests on Monday & leave for our 2 week HM on Tuesdsay morning!
If we weren't getting the HM suite for free, we would be going home - we would've preferred to spend that $ on an extra night in Jamaica than in a hotel in Jamaica, Queens

Re: Where's everyone staying for their wedding night?
We have a deluxe suite at the Hilton Huntington. We toured the place and it was very nice. We also got a great room rate and have a blocked rooms there. Our suite has a living room, bedroom, kitchen and naturally a bath. We're going to invite a small group back to the room to relax after the wedding. We really aren't going to consider it our 'honeymoon' until we get to our hotel in Maine. We're honeymooning in Bar Harbor outside of Acadia National Park, and then spending the final weekend in a ritzy bed and breakfast in Newport! So the first night is not all that important to us.
And speaking of a small gathering at the hotel after the wedding, is everybody doing it in their room or do you have a special place in the hotel?? What are you providing if you're having it in the room? Food? Drinks? ???
Thanks!
Km

Re: Where's everyone staying for their wedding night?
Kim, We are renting a conference room in the hotel for $300. We will provide the food & drink, but the hotel will set the room up with couches & tables & a refridgerator. They will also layout the food prior to us getting there & handle all cleanup afterwards. We will bring a stero for them to step up & I am asking them to put aTV in the room & setting up a karoke machine. We will probably just have beer, wine, & champagne(though our friends will probably bring anything they want special). We thought about having it in a room, but the hotel suggests doing this because then you don't have other guests complain about the noise. Also I was worried about room, if it was a small group that would be different, but I am having a lot of out of towners, as well as friends at this hotel, so we didn't want it to be crowded. The hotel has a piano lounge & not a regular bar & it closes at midnight, so I wanted a place where everyone could hangout, but still be able to leave & go back to there hotel room if they wanted.

We're getting married at the Crest Hollow Country Club. We were first thinking of staying at the Garden City Hotel, but we're probably staying at the Fox Hollow in. I heard it's really nice there. Most of our BP will probably be staying there as well.
