i was invited to a bridal shower last year, couldn't go, but still sent a gift. however, i have yet to receive a TY note. that's something that i find sooooo annoying. if someone sends you a gift, i think it's so rude not to send a thank you note, or at least provide a verbal thank you.
and i know she got it, because a friend at the shower said she opened it there.

I was invited to a wedding last year, went, gave a nice gift and didn't get a thank you. THEN i get invited to her BABY SHOWER! I didn't know she was preggers! I sent a gift anyway but don't expect a thank you of course. People need to read up on Emily Post and shizz

How rude! I went to an eparty in September 2009 and never got a thank you note for the gift I gave. I also went to 2 weddings July 2009 and no thank you cards from those either. Come on!!

Someone very very very close to me never sent a TY card for her wedding gift. In 2006.
I know it wasn't lost in the mail, because my parents also did not receive one.
Straight-up tacktastic if you ask me.

i HATE writing TY cards ... but i would def do it for 'big' occasions (engagement party, wedding, shower, etc)

Nope. And my parents live out of state and did not attend the wedding but sent a very nice amount of $$$. Like, very nice if you're ATTENDING but fkn overboard crazy lots for people who did not go.
Obviously I am still irritated by this.

Is she invited to your shower? You can send a really really nice note to her so she feels bad.
I once didn't get a ty and actually asked the recipient--she never got the gift! So glad I opened my mouth but obviously different in this situation...

Same here. 2 weddings, 1 shower, 1 present sent to another wedding we couldn't attend. No thank yous. And they were all FH's family come to think of it.

still haven't received a TY note from a wedding in may 2009.
FH and I talk about how to deal with them ALL the time. I say give them the nicest TY note ever bc obvi we're better people, but FH says forget 'em and don't waste my time.
