I'm more of a Band person for a wedding, but it also depends on the day/type of affair.

For a Saturday night, I think a Band is very nice if you want more of a formal affair.

If I was having a Friday or Sunday wedding I would go with a DJ...

But, to me, there is something about a DJ that makes me feel like i'm at a Sweet 16 not a wedding.. JMO!!

Either way, your wedding will be a blast!

I'm pretty much on the fence - I love a band if they're really GREAT - but I also love a DJ as long as it's done classy (IMO).

Depends on the DJ and the band. But I prefer a band.

me too. there is something about live music that makes it feel more intimate and festive

I prefer bands but that is because I was raised in family that everyone played in a band.

Band - but it has to be a good one. It gives older guests something entertaining to look at when/if they can't dance.

I've only seen 1 DJ that I really loved - the rest were super cheesey and just plain ole bad.

I went to a wedding with a band last year, and there wasn't that much dancing.

I agree- All the weddings I've been to have had a dj & they weren't bad, but I don't ;liek when they say silly things. I opted to go with a band., because I want a more traditional feel & we are not a big group of dancers, so I want it to be music people will enjoy just listening too.

Bands are nice too. As long as you don't get one like the band that was in Old School.

Definitely a DJ, i like the song to sound how it is supposed to sound, but i enjoy bands too

I have never been to a wedding with a DJ where the party gets 'off the ground'...

and I think a band brings a level of sophistication that a DJ cannot.

Mostly because almost EVERY time I hear a band (unless they were ultra expensive to begin with) they have screwed up at LEAST one song.

I hate feed back and off key notes, badly used drums, overly loud drums or off beat basses. Im just picky. But my family is musicans so we grow up hearing music and like it perfect I guess.

Anyway.. I prefer a DJ.

I prefer a band. I love the sound of live music. I think a band can really energize the crowd.

I love watching and listening to a band perform but when it comes to dancing..... I only seem to really want to dance with DJs. Not sure why........
