So for a while, I've known what I was going to have for the BM gowns.. the Bill Levkoff Dress below (in Navy Blue with a cream ribbon around the middle). The girls tried them on, they looked gorgeous, etc. We were going to order the dresses within the next week or two. But, yesterday I went to a wedding and the grooms sister had a dress that was drop dead gorgeous.. now I need your opinion. It's a Jessica McClintock. THe picture is not very good and it's hard to see, but trust me, it's absolutely stunning! I was thinking of doing the dress in a rose color... let me know your thoughts!
i'm a stickler for going with your first choice but the second dress is nice also..have the girls try both on with you

Another question, do you think if the satin is really shiny, it will look bad in the pics? Anyone have very shiny satin dress pics?

I think the first one would more than likely be more flattering on ALL body types that you may have in your bridal party. The second is lovely, but the cross-over style falls in a funny place. If they arent all flat-tummied, someone is bound to be unhappy. Though they COULD use a minimizer but they make you feel like a stuffed sausage!!!.

HAHAHA!!! The girls are all little twigs!!! In fact, one of them is an aerobic instructor and has been in those athletic competitions and won first place!! So they can pretty much pull off just about anything!! I'm the only one in this wedding equation, that will not be able to breath with all of my tummy sucker stuff on! :)

I only said what I said because I was once a size 24 (now a 10) and all three times I was a bridesmaid, I was miserable. I have yet to be a guest at a wedding where ONE of the attendants wasn't a plus size and THAT attendant looked miserable too. Consider yourself blessed and LUCKY!!!
I have one friend in my BP who made a simple request of a sleeve because she is self conscious of her arms. She teeters on a 14/16 and is busty. I care about her too much to alienate her by choosing a dress that will make her unhappy. Since I am only having three adults, two teens and three little ones in my BP, I think it is only fair to give her this courtesy. It isn't worth destroying our friendship.

I like #2 the best. I don't think the plum will clash with your rose buds. Actually I like that color for the fall.
