My future in-laws wanted the rehearsal dinner...even though we are not going to have an actual rehearsal...since we're having our ceremony at the same place as our reception.

I would like to send out invitations...I bought them soooo cheap...but how would I word them? Can I still say...Please join us for a rehearsal dinner in honor of.........

The dinner is booked for the night before the wedding and most of the attendees at the rehearsal dinner are going to be booking hotel rooms for that night...

We had a rehersal at the hall, then walked next door for dinner. Our maitre D ran it but since our minister is a family friend he was there!

We still called it a rehearsal dinner and joked that we were rehearsing the eating & drinking
