I know a lot of people buy a home before they get married.
Which did you do?
House first? Wedding first? New house and wedding at same time?
Our wedding is 4 months away. Trying to house hunt while finishing up wedding planning is stressful!
Anyone else in the same boat?

we are going to look into condos or co-ops a few months before we get married..
hopefully find something we can set up, and then move into after the wedding....
if not then an apt. until we start house hunting.
so wedding will be first, we both still live at home, so it helps us save some money

We bought our house in august of 2006, we are getting married june of 2008.
I would never of had a wedding without having a house first, but everyone has different priorities.

I bought the house first. We got engaged march 2006 and started looking right of way. It was very stressful but he helped out alot. We found the house of our dreams and we couldn't pass it up. We closed on the house in July 2006. The house was in excellent conditions which helped me go back to concentrating in the wedding and not worrying so much about any repairs.

we're gonna start looking at houses once we get back to ny in may. due to finances and changing jobs, our wedding date is still up in the air, so who knows what will come first. =0P

I am in the same boat as you. My wedding is in June and we are currently on the hunt for a house. Although we won't move into the house until we get married. I will agree that it is definitely very stressful!!

we had a house before the wedding...it made it so much easier...as far as transitions go

wedding first, apartment, then house.
fh and i are not sure where we want to live yet and we want to save up more to have a bigger down payment.

bought coop first (8/2005), then married (9/2006), we'll probably buy a house in a year or two.

FH and I were talking about that tonight. I think that we are going to begin looking in June but buy after the school year begins in September. I want to be in ahouse before our wedding because it will be our own.
I really dont want to rent because I feel like I am giving my money away. Maybe we will get a townhouse but I really really hope we can buy a house.
Trying to save for both and wedding and a house is hard though. Tough decision!

We bought our house in july of 05, got engaged in september of 05 and will be gettign married 5/27/07...

We are in the same boat. We are in contract to sell our co-op, so we're in the process of packing, while also looking for a house and planning a wedding. It's crazy! But I'm gladly putting up with it so we can try and be in a house before the wedding.
