Which came first for you guys? The house or the wedding?

Which came first for you guys? The house or the wedding?

I know a lot of people buy a home before they get married.

Which did you do?

House first?
Wedding first?
New house and wedding at same time?

Our wedding is 4 months away. Trying to house hunt while finishing up wedding planning is stressful!

Anyone else in the same boat?

Wedding came first...you can always get a house IMO...we are starting to look now...seriously looking in the summer maybe

hopefully closing on the house at the end of this month and getting married in April.

House came first for us.. we were in a different situation...FH's parents moved when he was 19 (we met when he was 18, hes now 25) and neither one of us could afford an apt nor did we want an apt at the time..so FH moved in with my fam and I ..and even though my fam and him get along great..after all of us living together for 4 yrs it was getting tuff..we really were needing our privacy..so we got a house in june of 05 and getting married in march of 08!

wedding planning first for us , and then we are looking into gettin an apartment first, savin up a bit for the house.

we bought our townhome first.
wedding in september.
maybe in a year or two...we'll buy a home.

We looked at our house in February, bought it in May and got married in September.

If I can offer a piece of advice, wait to buy until after the wedding. I cannot explain how STRESSFUL it was to do what we did!! Moving alone is such a PITA then add on the wedding planning. I was so spent by the time the wedding rolled aroud!

ETA: But it was GREAT to come home to 'our home' after the wedding and HM!!

umm definatly wedding first. we live in a complex and we own it soo we will probably wait till we start a family

We were engaged in December, closed on house in early April, married in November. I can't decide whether I would have preferred to do things differently.

The wedding...We are still not too sure where we want to buy a house, so we are renting an apartment...

We are buying a house asap and wedding is in July. We are freaking out!!!!

House this month, then wedding in July. We're going nuts - too many decisions!
