Re: Which DJ? :)
we went with tom from spin aroundI think it is a pretty personal decision...he understood what it was like to be at 007 in franklin Square every thursday night, so for me there wasnt a doubt. He was actually the only guy we met in person!
When you meet you'll get a feel, trust your gut!

Re: Which DJ? :)
If your looking for a DJ that is a little more low key, try music by michael. He fit what we were looking for perfectly!

I second music by michael - he has been nothing but communicative, helpful, and professional since the day we booked him!

Re: Which DJ? :)
carrieann...that is so funny....I haven't thought about 007 in YEARS!!! especially since its a steak house now!!! LOL...I used SAS and he sold me on Malibu...in Long Beach...lolI had a good experience with him at the first meeting...and the wedding was just as I imagined it..the most important...NOT ONE SONG THAT I DIDN'T LIKE...I would have literally cried if Mariah Carey or Celine Dion were played...and all I wanted to do was dance!! so many people complimented the music (although I did supply him with a big play list) and my uncle loved that he didn't talk...b/c he has a hearing aid that can act up with microphones...
also...while I like one type of music (that you can dance to) DH likes Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, etc...Tom worked in that genre with dinner...and it was fabulous...one of my cousins and told John he was choked up when he heard Led Zepplin! lol
Hes a little pricier than others...but its worth it...especially when you think of how important music is and how expensive some bands can be...

We booked Tommy's Tunes. I think they are a little pricey ($1195 for basic,no lights or props), but I really liked Tommy. He is very personable and has made a real effort to get to know us and what we want to hear. It seems like a very professional setup as well. I hope I'm right! Good luck to you!http://www.djtommystunes.com/packages.html

We have been to a couple of weddings where the DJ was Body Rock and each and everytime the entire place was dancing around. We knew which company we wanted right away

We went to a wedding where spin around sound did the music. They were excellent, one of the best djs we've seen. They worked the crowd so well, bride and groom-my cousin-had a great experience with the company.Did someone say 007? Or Malibu? Oh my goodness. You are taking me back-way back.

We went with Body Rock. My friend used them for her wedding and they were incredible. The dance floor was packed all night and that's exactly what I want.We went with a DJ/MC package and a medium light package plus a live musician during dinner.

i was seriusly in mourning when they tore down 007/ocean club. 007 was the best, most fun place, either that or I was just young and hadn't seen much yet, but I loved that place!

Ahhh - I used to love Spit! Such good times.....We booked SAS - just heard rave reviews about the owner, so it wasn't much of a decision for us.
I'll post a review in 2 weeks!

Used to love Spit! All of those guys with long hair and dancing to 80's metal, boy I miss those days! I am using Dance Jock by the way.

Re: Which DJ? :)
my first experience at 007 was when I was 14/15 and watched debbie gibson get boo'ed off the stage (I had my friends id that made me old enough to get in)When I turned 18/19 (of course with the id to prove otherwise) ~ 007 became the thursday night spot....ahhh, the memories...we would drive over 45 minutes to 'play' there on thursday nights.
Then we'd go to Industry in Island park in the early 90's...
Clubs that that are hard to find these days!!
