Everyone of those halls you listed have gotten great feedback on these boards

There is no such thing as a 'best location' .. its all relative. What you might love about one hall, another bride might not.... its all a matter of personal preference and what exactly is most important to you in a hall.

Definitely take the time to visit each one of them and make lists of pros and cons for each .. that'll help you narrow it down further until you find the 'best' hall for YOU and your FH!

Exactly!
I'v enevre been to any of the plces, but from pics, I do think the Carlyle is beautiful, especially if you are having the ceremony there.

My mom is going to see the Roslyn Claremont today. Does anyone know of a lovely garden in the Roslyn area that we could have the ceremony at?

It is so hard for me to go see all the places because I live and work in NYC, so my mom is my eyes and ears (god bless her)!!!

THANK YOU ALL!!!!

A garden type ceremony is propabale impossible on LI.

I live in Westchester & work in NYC, and planning on LI ( beause I'm from there originally)
Just do as much research on line & on the phone as possible, so you are not wasting your time going out there, ( like with minimums & availablity) & you will have to go out there on weekends & nights.

Out of those choices, Carlyle is definitely the nicest. My second choice would be NRC. The price difference between them is probably pretty drastic though, so I don't really think you can compare the two.

Thank you all for your help. My mom and I are currently visiting all the places.

I just went to a wedding at Fox Hollow, so I don't need to go there again. I loved it, but need to explore all options.

We called Westbury Manor and they don't do Saturday night weddings unless it is 200+ people, so that is out!

I see you are looking for a outdoor ceremony site for March 06...What time are you looking for the ceremony to be?? I am getting married 3/31/06 & I can tell you the sun sets by 6 because it is not daylights savings time...I am not sure if there are many places that will do an outdoor wedding in March...When FH & I looked at Watermill, they told us if we wanted our ceremony outside, we could not do it in March...Just thought I would give you a little insight!
