Depends on where you are putting it. But I think I like the 2nd one better. Its very dramatic.

Edit: OK after reading what other people wrote I went back to look at them again. And I change my vote. I vote for #1 because I didn't even realize your names were in #2! So yes, they are hard to read and don't stand out.
