Which Vegas Hotel would you recommend and why?

DH and I are planning a trip to Vegas for next February. He's been there once and stayed at Treasure Island. I've never been there. Where do you recommend we stay and why!

We stayed at the Paris... loved, loved, loved it! The rooms were so nice, and they upgraded us to their best suite for one night because they ran out of other rooms. It's right in the middle of everything, across from the Bellagio, and the restaurants in the Paris were AMAZING!!!

I've stayed in a number of hotels in Vegas:

NY, NY - smaller rooms, hear roller coaster all night
MGM HUGE hotel, nice rooms, a bit too big (hotel)
Luxor cool concept, but nothing special
Tropicana average hotel, older
Circus Circus end of strip, older, kid oriented

but my fave is the Rio. Although it is not directly on the strip, the room is AWESOME. It is floor to ceiling windows & there is even a window in the shower that you can see out into the living room/bedroom. The room is huge. There's also a great club in the Rio & a shuttle to the strip.

we stayed in tropicana, it was good, but smelled in the rooms like pee. my mom stays in flamingo and loves it

We stayed at Mandalay Bay and LOVED it. I also stayed at NY NY and liked that better. If you are going as a couple i would recommend Mandalay Bay. NY NY is cheaper though.

I liked those two and the Bellagio, Monte Carlo and Luxor.

I didn't really like Excalibur or Circus, Circus (kid oriented and not as nice), Treasure Island (not a lot to do compared to other hotels) or Stardust (kind of old looking).

I just came back after getting married in Vegas and we stayed at Treasure Island and loved it. Everyone there treated us like family and as if they had known us forever. $$ wise when we go back we would like to stay either at the Venitian or Mirage. Bellagio was beautiful but far out of our reach.

we stayed at the Excalibur... which was ok.. it was an economical decision... we did get a jacuzzi in our room for a night and that was AWESOME to have!!! especially when you spend the day walking the strip... it is such a nice thing to come back to... If money was no object I would want to stay at the new hotel the Wynn... it looks amazing!!! Paris would also be awesome... and if you get the right room you can overlook the Bellagio fountains... the location is great too because it is right in the middle of the strip...if we stayed there i would get fat though, because their crepes are SOOO yummy I would have to have one everyday...

I would consider what you want to do when you are there and perhaps pick a location based on that... when we stayed at the Excalibur we were all the way at the end of the strip, but it worked out ok because all the shows we wanted to see were in that area... it would have been a PITA to be on other end of the strip and have to travel all the way down to go see the shows...

three years ago we stayed at the boardwalk hotel(next to the monte carlo).

In two weeks , we will be at the Ceasars.
Ceasars and the Paris are good choices because it is on the middle of the strip.

We stayed at the Mirage during part of out honeymoon it was great.. I really liked it...

we stayed at Treasure island which was very nice but next time we would try Bellagio, NY NY Mandalay BAy or teh new Steve Wynn hotel. In my opinion as long as teh rtoom is nice abnd clean you really arent in the room THAT Much that it really matters and you end up seiengf teh whole strip dso being in teh center or whatever wasnt an issue for us.

We stayed in the Mirage when we went, but since we went with one of DH's friends who has a connection in the MGM chain, we stayed in a penthouse suite for free . I have no idea how the regular rooms were, but our suite was like a posh NYC apartment.

I would have to say the Bellagio, hand down (and not just because we got engaged there). The spa is fabulous, so were the pools and restraunts. I felt like a rock star all weekend, the service was great all around.

Agreed!!! I also had the massage I've ever had at their spa!

We went in 2002 and stayed at the Aladdin which I thought was great! It's now taken over by Planet Hollywood (not sure when though)

For our HM we stayed at the Bellagio and to me there is nothing better. We had a lakeview room which overlooked the fountains which was just breathtaking. I HIGHLY recommend it but it's quite pricy!

ETA: I also stayed at the Stardust and WOULD NOT recommend it. I found it to be very dirty.

I heart Paris - it's gorgeous!!! If I could afford the Bellagio or the Venetian, I would try them, but Paris has a great location and is really well done (better than some of the other hotels in the same price range).
