That sounds about right. And they will really appreciate it. My fiancee is in the business and sometimes works for 12 hours without a bite! And we're talking big, $100,000 weddings. We're feeding ours as well, full plates, not dinky sandwiches, etc. They the ones who help to make your day special and should be treated as such.

ladys- another question?

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad to hear they appreciate it. A friend of mine said her DJ and MC said they would eat at the coctail hour and didn't want a seat at the reception. What is your take on that?

You may just want to ask what they prefer. Most catering places don't want wild dance music while they are serving meals - it's more difficult to manuver the rooms with large trays. You'll generally find the DJ puts on some 'dinner music' and they may have prepared a CD that has a nice mix of Sinatra, Tony Bennett, or more contemporary ballads. They could sit and grab a bite then or they may prefer to enjoy eating a plate at the cocktail hour instead of trying to grab bites between setting up songs during the reception.
