I would go for the fresh fruit, especially since you are having a summer wedding. Also, if you are having pasta at your cocktail hour, then you might not want to have it as an appetizer.

i chose fruit because i personally don't like when the first courses fill me up and i can't finish my actual entree.

It depends on what you are having for your CH. We had the fruit at our wedding because there was so much food at the CH, we thought it would be refreshing. Also, being a vegetarian, I liked that everyone could eat it.

depends on what else you're serving. Since your wedding is july, i'd stay away from the soup. If the rest of your meal is substantial, i'd go with the fruit, as long as it's presented nicely.

It all sounds delicious but if I had to choose.....
I like fruit, I'd go for that. It'd be a refreshing starter esp. for the summer.

I voted the pasta. Your getting married inJuly and it'll be hot enough. So soup would be no good. And usually CH has thr fruit as well.

There is most likely some type of pasta at the CH. Fruit as an appetizer is a refreshing break, IMO like a palate cleanser before the salad and main course.

Yeah I'm gonna have to say the fruit also. We had the same dilemma but decided on the fruit since we're having a one of those pasta stations at the CH.

i def wouldn't go with a heavy cream soup. while the pasta's are substaintial, i always love a good fruit plate. delicious and keep you from getting too full to fast.
I agree! There is so much food at weddings! A nice fruit plate would be a welcome course
