White Vs Ivory?

It seems many Brides are now wearing Ivory. I personally prefer white just b/c white is one of my favorite colors. Is it because alot of designers only offer Ivory?

Which color are you wearing and why?

I am wearing ivory because it looks better on my skin then a pure white. I say go with whatever you think looks better and are comfortable with.

I actually haven't decided which of 3 dresses yet..but I am going with ivory for reason that I had children and my family is sooooo old fashioned. I can't tell you how many Aunts say white is only virginal 'you better not wear it... Does anyone even follow that anymore????

I have pale skin that doesn't tan at all so I decided to go with Ivory. I didn't want a dress that washed me out. Plus, I fell in love with my dress where the sample was Ivory lace.

Technically, my dress is 'white', however it's really ivory. I would prefer it to be much brighter white, but that's the color it came in and I can't do anything about it! Oh well, it's still beautiful!!!

I'm wearing ivory because white just looked too blinding and i didn't like how it looked on me.

I tried my dress on in ivory and loved it, Kenneth Pool Ivory looks nearly white, but something in my head kept saying 'bride-white' 'bride-white' so I ordered it in white. So, I guess for me it was just a matter of what my brain is programed to want, lol.

Mine is ivory...

Same as Denise, I always swore I was having a white wedding gown, but then The sales woman at POB showed me the difference in colors and I knew that I needed to have the IVORY!

Basically it is white in my eyes anyways.. the white was just too stark for my taste

Wow alot of interesting answers. I noticed barbie said her gown only came in Ivory. Werent you looking at a few? I assume you decided on one?

Yeah I ordered it back in November though.

ETA: I didnt really care about color too much. I was looking at light pink ones too. So to me it didnt matter.

mine is called natural.... which i think is somewhere between white and ivory. It looks white, but its prob not as stark as true white. the other color it came in was blush and i def didnt want that.

Ha ha.. I think usually the only brides following that rule are ones with some old fashioned family members. i don't have kids so my fam wants white... but Im pretty sure if i had kids my grandmother would say no white!
