I would definately check out Ken James Orchestra. We had him at our wedding and loved him, very professional. Bruce Sanders was the band leader we had, he even just sent us a card for our anniversary! We received sooo many compliments on them.

The other one we considered was The Next Faze from Faze Four. We have been to a wedding they did and they were great, as well as The Original Faze.

There are a lot of choices out there and by asking this question yo will get so many responses. We went with our gut. I have seen all three in showcases and we booked Renegade. We thought that they were the best by far for our taste. Fullhouse was our second choice until we went to the showcase. And Code Bleu we felt could not even touch Renegade. JMHO

We looked at a ton of bands. Our top contenders were Renegade, Timepiece, Body Heat, Code Bleu, Arcadia and Times Square Orchestra.

Any of them are EXCELLENT choices. You'd be choosing among the best on Long Island.

I heard THE MYSTIC was pretty good although I really have never heard them.

We chose TSO b/c they were classy professional and VERY TALENTED and versatile.
Check them out if you like !

We used Times Square orchestra - we looked ALL over and they blew everyone else out of the water. Full house is also good. I HIGHLY recommend TSO everyone is still telling us how they were the best band that they have heard.

it really all depends on what you are looking for.

Bands have different specialties. Some are more flashly, some are more understated... it all depends on what you are looking for, what type of music, etc.

I wanted something more 'upscale'- more swing/standards then 'modern' music and no 'gimmicks' or tricks..

I went with Gerard Carelli whose band is made up of professional full-time musicians that belong to the musicians union. I didn't look at any 'wedding' bands but more so 'society' bands.

I'm not using a band (it would have been nearly a quarter of our budget ) But my friends are using The Touch - they heard them at another wedding and loved them - it was the one thing my friend Nick instisted on for his wedding. I also have another friend that's seen them several times and loves them... they have a website where you can hear their stuff, and their pretty good. I almost wanted to cancel my DJ and just hope I fell into a pile of money to pay for them

Times Square Orchestra They were the best!!! I loved them. Everyone was having a great time at my wedding, dance floor was never empty.

I had Niteflight..IMO they are fabulous. They do a lot of everything but they are not your typical wedding band. Excellent vocalists and a great horn section..that was my criteria for the music I wanted played.

I went to a wedding last night @ Villa Lombardi's and it was awesome.

THey used Renegade- they played EVERY type of music really well.

I've seen them too and I didn't think they were amazing... Everyone's tastes are different, these threads will tell you who everyone used, not the 'best' band on LI... Just my 2 cents.
The band I used is based in westchester, to me, they are the best

Of the LI bands that we saw, we really liked Times Square Orchestra. If you ever want to broaden your search to NYC too, I highly recommend NYC Swing. They were absolutely amazing at our wedding!

I am throwing a new contender into the pot. I never see them posted on here but I love my band. I have 10 pieces and three vocalists and they are under 7000. They also do acoustic guitar on breaks and play the Greatful Dead(my FH all time favorite) as well as Motown. They are very talented.

Respectfully to all the not yet marrieds, myself included, I think this a question best asked of those who are already wed and thus saw the band in action. I absolutely LOVE my band and booked them after seeing them at another wedding but I cannot tell you the important stuff yet, like whether they showed up on time, honored my do not play list, etc. I would consider doing a search of each band and seeing what feedback you come up with esp. in previous bridal review. JMO, good luck!
