Re: Who are/were the Aruba Honeymooners?

OK! We have a dilemma. We are interested in Aruba, mainly b/c it is outside the hurricane belt and our wedding is 9-6-03. HOWEVER...we have read that Aruba can get boring after 5-7 days and we want to go a little longer. PLUS, is there nightlife? Bars, casinos, stuff like that? PLUS, are there watersports? Jetskiing, parasailing, snorkeling, diving?

Re: Who are/were the Aruba Honeymooners?

I just came back from Aruba. There are a few clubs in Aruba, the traditional Carlos & Charlies, The Zone, Bahia and Club 2000. They're is a casino in almost every hotel and a few downtown. There is parasailing, banana boating etc.

My husband and I were only there for 7 days and I wanted to stay longer.

Re: Who are/were the Aruba Honeymooners?

Thanks Irenie! The only other problem with Aruba is that there are only 2 all-inclusives - Divi and Tamaraijn, both of which are not nearly as nice as the Radisson or Wyndham Aruba...can anyone shed light on whether those 2 all-inclusives (he is hell bent on all-inclusives) are worth it?

Re: Who are/were the Aruba Honeymooners?

Thrilled,

I can say this maybe all-inclusives are the way to go. The food is expensive!!! Ask Jennbaby she's the Aruba expert.

Re: Who are/were the Aruba Honeymooners?

How about an overnight trip to Venezuela or islands that are near by? I read about this when I was there, but I don't remember the specifics.

Re: Who are/were the Aruba Honeymooners?

I personally would not go all inclusvie, there are way too many good places to go to eat. JMO but you are on your honeymoon, splurge a little! Plus I love to go out to eat so I am glad we didn't go all inclusive, we know people who did and regretted it. We were there 8 days and I liked that it was kind of low key, it is a small island and there are things to do but it also allows you to relax and that was what we loved about it. We did not run around every day going here and there because we did not want to do that on our honeymoon though. We didn't want/need a vacation coming back from a vacation!
