I plan on tipping the Maitre D and the photographer and videographer, since they will be putting in the most work, but everyone else I just feel it paid very well and why should there be more?

I plan on feeding the photographer and the musicians too. One of them is playing at our ceremony as well, so he'll really be there all day.
As for tipping, yeah, it's out of control, but I will tip my maitr'd, photographer (only when I see the proofs), and we'll probably make a donation to the officiant's church. Only if we are pleased with the services each offers though. If we're not, forget it.

I agree and I am sickened by the amount of $$ that goes on tips...I am not opposed to tipping, but I am fed up with vendors expecting tips. A TIP should be given for extraordinary service, IMO, not for doing your job!
EXACTLY!!! You said it perfectly!!!! I'll tip for something exceptional, not for doing what we hired and are already paying plenty for!!!

We did not go crazy. We tipped the hall $2000 and the photographer's assistants $50. That's it. Everyone got paid enough.

That's what I'm doing too. I'll maybe tip the limo people if they get me everywhere on time. But I'm not tipping people just because.

I could be wrong, but I think that the 20% gratuity for limo drivers is added on automatically. you don't even have a choice. very strange if you ask me!

I'm only tipping the bridal attendant, delivery of flowers and the Maitre D. I'm feeding the vendors.. so why do I have to tip them

Why are we annoyed at having to feed the vendors? They'll be working our wedding, will be there for a really long time, the least we could do is feed them (I would want nothing less for myself). Tipping should be in addition to any food as a 'good job' reward. Call me crazy but I would hate to have my meal be my 'tip'.

Look at your contract...does it say 'gratuity' or does it say 'service fee' if it's the latter, you have to tip the Maitre 'D. They're sneaky, aren't they?

I've heard anywhere between $2-$5 per person or more.

They will be working and they will be paid for the job. I don;t like it when they say food, DRINKS and tip would be appreciated. We have to cut cost somewhere.. all this tipping... it gets out of control
