Who feels under paid?

Are you happy with the salary you are receiving or do you feel you are under paid and are you scared to see what else is out there?

well, Im a teacher, and sometimes I feel underpaid for the type of students I deal with. My salary will always go up, and I can take classes to increase my salary...so I cant complain about that.
But always want more $$$

I am grossly underpaid, but I know there are MANY people who disagree with that.
Those are people who have never worked with children.

Edited to say, that regardless of how underpaid I feel, I will not leave my job any time soon, and if I do, it will be to do something else with children.

Salary wise, I am not underpaid, bonus wise, I am not underpaid, but to break it down hourly, for the hours I put in, they wouldn't be able to afford me....

However, I know am appreciated and I love where I work. (plus my 15 minute commute helps...)

I am not underpaid. I just don't have enough work to make enough!! For the amount I do, I get paid very well.

Umm, I'm in book publishing, so yes I think I am underpaid. My friends and FH think I am too. For some reason the bigwigs haven't quite realized yet that publishing is not filled with Seven Sisters-educated WASP-y trust-fund babies anymore. REAL people are trying to make a living in it and barely scraping by

I'm underpaid simply because I was making more in the last hole I worked in, so therefore I should be making the same here, because I produce the same quality of work...and because its 6:40 on a Friday night and I'm still here!!

Meeeeee, Meeeeee I'm sooooooo underpaid. According to our accountant I should be making about $10-$12,000 more a year in a competitive market.

However, with this market we are lucky that we have jobs so I'm not going to complain.

I hear ya, I'm actually comfortable with what I'm making I guess I'm talking more for my FI I make more than him and I think it gets to him. He is worth more than what he is making he got his increase recently and he is still not making what I make I feel bad. He's got a Bachelors too and I have nothing but a diploma and a couple of certificates his job is also more important than mine. He works for a bank and I hear they do not pay their employees well. Its really a shame people it is very hard to make it out in the world who wants to just get by :0(

Another publishing company here and yes...I AM DISGUSTINGLY UNDERPAID!!!!!

I was totally underpaid and that is why I left! My old boss has asked me back twice (which I love) but I am sticking to my guns on this one!

when I had a job both I was seriously underpaid. plus all the jobs I am going for offer crap...especially since it is so expensive to live here!

edited to say: my MIL is a teachers and she busts her butt everyday for those kids. these kids have parents don't help them at all and expect a teacher to have a profound affect on them. i believe they also need to be reinforced at school. I give all teachers alot of credit, because what they do is not an easy job.

when I was a NYC teacher...I felt underpaid...but honestly when I was on LI...I thought it was a decent salary...too bad that means dealing with a$shole administrators though...

I do, I do--I know a lot of people feel nurses make good money but for the crap I do and the hours I work 8pm-8am I feel underpaid/overworked. Alot of people think all nurses do is give out meds and flirt with doctors like on General Hospital but I wish that were all I run around like a mad woman at night-patients are falling, crying, i'm cleaning incontinent patients, having people vomit on me, giving blood transfusions, taking blood, it goes on and on---whew, i'm done

I feel I am paid what I am worth. Unfortunately, my hubby disagrees, when he did my taxes this year he said, this is all you make he said for how much experience and knowledge you have, we have to find you another job.

I do not look at my job as all monetary rewards, I work with wonderful people and I am in an environment that I love. It is stress free and there are many little perks. I think if things were bad I would not feel the same or if I was unhappy maybe my response would be different.

I am truly satisfied with my salary. Not to say if they offered me more I would refuse it, but at this point in my life I am content. I look fwd to going to my place of employment. It might not be earth shattering or moving work, but it pays the bills.

When God sees fit, he will move me up or out to where I should be and probably with the compensation to go along with it. FOr now I am good right here.
