who has a network connection at home?

So We finally got another computer know and we want to network both of them with the cable modem connection? how do I go about it?

If they are near each other you can purchase a 4 port LinkSys router and you would then need to buy Cat 5 (Ethernet) cable long enough to go from the router to the second computer.

Or you can buy a LinkSys wireless router and a LinkSys wireless card and go online that way.

Just go to Best Buy and tell the Sales rep there what you need and they will help you.

Ugh I hate Best Buy (IMO) but love Microcenter. Linksys is a great company. I'd go wireless b/c it is less mess and if you or anyone else has a laptop with a wireless card they can use the service anywhere in the house and the surrounding area (provided you don't password protect the access).

we have a wireless card and a linksys router. we have att callvantage for our phone (voice over IP) which goes through the router so I think we had to get an access point for the wireless card. all i know is that even with the wireless for our laptop we still have a ton of wires everywhere!
