Our condo has a room to rent for parties so DH's parents paid for catering and decorations. Tradition is that the Grooms side pays but it isn't always the case. If we didn't have that room to rent, my parents would have given it at their house.

Fh's parents are supposed to be footing the bill...they allowed us to choose the location (with their final okay) since they aren't familiar with the restaurants near my parents house/church...but everyone's happy!!

FH and I.....If I left it up to FMIL I still wouldn't even have the place picked out yet....so we decided since she didn't jump at the opportunity to pay for it, we would do it ourselves - our pay - our way!
