Who is going to miss their last name?

I am. I love my last name. I keep messing with my FI about keeping it. He gets sooo mad :o)

I will miss it!!! I do the same thing to FH... it's going to be a weird change!!! But I will change it.

You get use to it after a while. I am finally comfortable with saying it now. It was very weird at first.

I will. I really do not like my fiance's last name. I have a hard enough first name and soon I will have a difficult last name. I guess I should start practicing spelling out my entire name....

I really like my last name (it's so ethnic sounding) and FH name is so BLAHH. Anyway, we had a big fight about it because I didn't want to change it (one good thing is at least my initials will stay the same since his last name starts with the same letter as mine), however, I've decided to add his name to mine (no hyphen). For work purposes, I will keep my maiden name but for everything else I will use his. Not sure what I'm going to do about bills/credit cards yet.

I am going to miss my last name too. I love it...the only thing is...it has an apostrophe in it and (as crazy as this sounds)...nobody seems to know what that is. I won't miss losing that!

Not me! Since I was little I couldnt wait to change it. My maiden name is a girls first name so my whole life with school and work Ive had people call me by my last name and I hate it. So finally have a real last name even though noone can pronounce it

Me!!!!! If he wasn't the only child I would have him change his only because my dad has five girls! Who is going to carry on the name? But since he is the only child I will take his - I am not sad about that, just wish I could do something nice like that for my father.

Not me, I'm keeping mine - it's been 'me' for 30 years and I really don't see why I *have* to change it. Everyone else BUT my SO has a problem/comment about this. None of their arguments make sense - 'teking his name will solidify your union'...um, didn't your EX wife take your name?...um, didn't work for you & dad - you divorced anyway. Whatever.

I LOVE my last name! I am so upset about losing it, especially because his SUCKS!

I don't like my last name, but I'm not sure my married name will be much of an improvement...I go from one ethnicity (that I'm not) to another ethnicity (that I'm not)...what are ya gonna do?

Me! I like my last name - it's a very uncommon last name (that nobody ever pronounces right!). And I'm going from a Sicilian last name to a boring 'southern' last name. Blah!
