FH and I are paying for the wedding with a little help from our parents, but mostly on our own. i can't believe how expensive weddings can be! i was wondering how everyone else was paying for all the costs

It just us! Soup to nuts! Sometimes it's scary and overwhelming but I know we'll pull it off and it will be great, the best day of our lives!

We are paying ourselves, start to finish. If it were up to me I'd love to elope and call it a day. Weddings are a ridiculous waste of money as far as I'm concerned.
If you don't want to do the whole wedding thing than you shouldn't, especially if you're paying for something you don't even want. Why don't you take a great trip and get married while you're away. You could always have a small reception here to celebrate afterwards.
Let me rephrase my response. FH is paying for everything start to finish. FH doesn't want to elope, and I don't want the typical wedding event so we're just having a small unique cocktail reception.

My parents: Hall, my dress and accessories. Us: everything else His parents:NADA, I think they expect US to give THEM money. Cheap bastards!
