FH and I are paying for the wedding with a little help from our parents, but mostly on our own. i can't believe how expensive weddings can be! i was wondering how everyone else was paying for all the costs

My parents are paying for $15K, plus my dress. the rest is up to FH and I. His parents aren't chipping in. :(
Its definitely very expensive and we are trying to be very good about saving since we also want to buy a house or co-op to move into after we're married.

My parents are paying for the most part..... my FH parenst are paying for the band Me and FH are paying for the limo because my mom thinks it is insane to get an H2 Hummer to go 4 miles down the road hahahaha

We are paying for everything, except for my dress. My mom bought me that.
This is how we were paying for ours as well until last Saturday. My mom fortunately was on the winning end of a legal battle and will be coming into some money. She offered to give us a nice sized check as a wedding gift, which will pay for just less than half of the total cost. I am very grateful to her for offering this to us. Now we won't have to resort to the credit cards and 401K loans as initially planned **sigh of releif**

We are paying for almost all of it...my mom might be able to contribute about 3-5K but we are not sure yet....!

FI and I are paying for pretty much everything except favors and a band ( FI and family want a greek band). We'll end up paying for a dj for american music. It's ridiculous how much we are spending. It puts us back a year for purchasing a house but you only get married once

my parents- hall, photographer, dj,flowers, e-party, airfare for honeymoon
his parents- rehearsal diner,video, limo ?
him- church, my wedding ring, honeymoon
me- his wedding ring, favors,invites,stds, my dress and all accesories all the little things for the church
my parents have set a certain amount of money they will give us for the wedding.. whatever is left over we get to keep (downpayment!). this works out since i am better at spending than saving!

My father - reception hall His parents - flowers and RD. We are paying for everything else. Everything adds up!

My parents are paying for the engagement party, reception, favors and little odds and ends.
Fh and I are paying for all the vendors, honeymoon, church donation and RD
FIL aren't paying for anything AT ALL!!

We're paying about 5-7 thousand, my family is paying about 5-7 thousand, his family about 4 thousand. About 7 people are putting in towards our wedding - we're very lucky.

My mom paid for the cocktail hour, his family nothing. We are paying for everything else (including the rehearsal dinner), hopefully cash.

My parents are paying for the reception and FH and I will pay for the rest.. FHs parents are giving us an extremely generous gift when we get married or before, whenever we need it to buy a house and just told us that if we can save a certain amount in the next year will give us more! They are being extremely generous!

We are paying ourselves, start to finish. If it were up to me I'd love to elope and call it a day. Weddings are a ridiculous waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

If you don't want to do the whole wedding thing than you shouldn't, especially if you're paying for something you don't even want. Why don't you take a great trip and get married while you're away. You could always have a small reception here to celebrate afterwards.
