Your parents, the groom's parents or you and the groom? (or some combo). I'm just wondering if it is still most common for the bride's parents to pay for the wedding or what?

My dad is paying for most of my reception, and my mom/stepdad and his parents are giving us some money towards vendors... If it weren't for them, I would be getting married in my backyard.. if my backyard was nice, it might not have been a bad thing! I don't know what I would have done without them!
I did get two extra jobs though to help save money for closing costs on our house- which is supposed to be done the same month as our wedding! Too much at once!

Our parents paid for just about all of it. We paid for the gifts for our BP and our honeymoon. We realize how lucky we are to have been in this situation.

dh and i paid for about 75% while our parents contributed. my dad and step mom paid for the video, my mom and step dad paid for flowers, my mil and fil paid for officiants and part of guest list. i personally saved a lot of money while i was younger b/c i knew i wouldn't be able to have my parents pay for it and if i ever wanted to have a wedding, it would be up to me, so i saved for much of it. otherwise, we would have gone to town hall.

I'm very happy to say that me and my now Husband paid for our wedding all on our own 100%! We wouldn't dare ask our parents for any help, we've been saving for a very long time and it all paid off in the end...we had our fairytale wedding!
