I find it amazing how much a wedding can cost.. My fiance and I are paying for the whole wedding ourselves.. my mom is paying for the dj ( which is very helpful) and who knows what his parents are giving us.. is anyone else paying for their own wedding?

My mom is paying for my dress. She gave us a very generous engagment gift which we are using for the honeymoon. Everything else is coming from us, including the RD. His mom is retired and living on fixed income, and his dad is deceased, so she doesn't have the means to contribute financially. She is however contributing in other ways which are just as important.

We are paying for everything that has to do with our wedding. My family is going to give us for a down payment of a house. I don't know what my FH's parents are paying....

We paid for everything 110% ourselves...from the hall to the rehearsal dinner to my mother's outfit and my dad's hotel for him and family to the honeymoon. As adults, we wouldn't have had it any other way and as husband and wife now we know it was worth every penny. You are not alone!

we are paying for it all too, both working two jobs to keep it covered and stay out of debt...man I can't wait to be on my HM

We are paying for it ourselves. My parents bought my dress and also part of the favors. My mom also got me a bunch of things for the reception as shower gifts, such as toasting flutes, cake cutting, etc.

My mom and dad (they are divorced) are giving us 5,000 each. No word on what his parents are doing. We have to lay out all the money b/c my parents are not gonna give us the money until the wedding. So we have to lay out approx. 20,000 and we will be getting 10k back

we set a budget based on the # of guests being invited. My father is putting in half the budget, his parents are matching what my father pays, we are paying for anything over the budget, plus the smaller details such as:

tuxes for our 6 nephews who are in the wedding party, invites, yarmulkes, personalized napkins, ketubah

My Dad is paying for everything- except the rings, HM and the limos

when it's all said and done we will spend between 12K and 15K ourselves

but my ring is really $$$

We'll be paying for it ourselves. Each of our parents may give us a monetary gift or chip in for something but we aren't counting on anything.

On the one hand, it is mind boggling that we are spending this much $$ on one day. On the other hand, for this day there are no do-overs so as long as we can afford to, we won't compromise.
