Who is paying for your wedding?

I know traditionally it's the bride's parents who are supposed to pay for the entire wedding. But seriously, who can afford to do that these days? My FH and I are looking at places and coming up with ideas with the thought that we would be paying for it ourselves so that we can stay on budget. My mom and step-dad said they would help us, but that they are not going to go broke paying for it. My FH says that he doesn't think his parents would help at all because they feel it is the bride's parents duty. Am I wrong to be pissed off about this? They have also passed comments that my parents should throw us an engagement party - obviously they are very traditional in their beliefs.
A little background on FH's parents - they recently bought a HUGE house in North Carolina, also own a town house in NC where their other son is living while he goes to school, they bought him a BRAND NEW car, and still have a house here on LI that has yet to sell. It doesn't seem to me that they're short on cash if they can do all those things.
So I'm just wondering how everyone else is paying for their wedding. I feel that in this day and age, the cost should be split between the bride and groom, and BOTH sets of parents.

Well my parents are paying for basically the whole thing. I am lucky enough that they REALLY want to do that for us. I know that we are paying for the limos though. Also I am paying for the photobooth option with my photographer and the albums. The other day I decided that I wanted something specific also so I mentioned to my dad that I will take care of it and he kinda just was like, 'dont worry just yet, we will figure it out'

Anthonys fam may be paying for the honeymoon though...

Things are not really final with details and all yet but with most major things complete that is the way it is going so far

we're paying for it ourselves, but both his and my parents said they will help out with something.

Both FH and I will be paying for most things. However, my mother is taking care of the dress and all things dress related and my parents are also taking care of all the tips for the day of. Also, they did throw us an engagement party last month. FH's parents will be taking care of the rehearsal dinner as well.

Eventhough we are paying for all major things ( ) our families are def. helping!!

ETA: i cant believe i forgot to say that my father is paying for our honeymoon too!! geez, im not with it this morning

We are paying for it with the exception of a few things - my parents are going to take care of (dress and centerpieces)

Just FH and I are paying for the wedding (mostly FH)

My parents are retired and I could NEVER ask them to use their retirement money to pay for my wedding.

We were really lucky and FH’s family offered to pay for our whole reception. My mom is paying for the photographer and my dress and we’re going to be paying for everything else (which I didn’t realize would still be so much!)
