I have been working with James Cress in Smithtown and he's been great, but has cancelled my latest appt. (to see my sample centerpeices) 5 times now! It's driving me crazy!! There's always a different excuse and yesterday the lady said to me well, your wedding isn't until Sept. so what's the big deal?? I was LIVID! I want to get everything I can done now... we're closing on our house next month and moving in and I'm going to be crazy!! I've heard you guys talk about Flower Michele, who else can I check out??

dont use james crest they reuse the flowers from the funeral parlors they supply they were on channel 2 shame on you and they charge a fortune. cant be trusted. use jack and rose they do one wedding a day and that is yours plus good prices.

I am SO HAPPY with our florist-Sugar Magnolias The owner is Heidi and weddings are all she does. She even gave me her home phone number in case I ever have a question. I also met with Marie from IN Full Bloom. She was so sweet and talented. I would also recommend her. I can't believe that about James Cress!

I have to say, I met with 'Mr. Cress' today and first of all, I thought they were expensive! On top of that, he was telling me that it was a bad idea to do what i wanted...calla lilies just lightly wrapped with ribbon, not encased... yet wouldn't give me a reason. Then he tells me that calla's are more expensive than roses and i should really just do roses...Hello!!!! if i wanted roses i would have asked for roses. Anyway, they are out of the equation so it doesn't matter, just wanted to vent.

I also had a bad experience at James Cresse (not funeral flowers though...) I also felt they had that we don't need your business attitude. (and sorry to say my FH knows the family) Anyways we had an appointment in smithtown..the owner was very quick and blew us off. He wanted to give me this traditional tulle arch when we're getting married on the beach. He doesn't seem to have any creative input (IMO) I kept asking for natural looking..and he kept suggesting roses..as if that's all he knew how to do! Don't get me wrong they do beautiful work...centerpieces from my girlfriends Oct. wedding lasted 2 weeks! We even used them for the engagement party they did an awesome balloon arch over the pool. I just think that you and your florist should share similar ideas and keep appointments!
Edited to say he also didn't want me to use callie lillies in my bouquet. I wanted hot pink ones and he told me they don't come in that color...PS my florist (Flower Garden port Jeff) is having them special ordered for me!!!!

I've been working with the son - Gary. I am also doing calla lillies. Haven't had the same experience as the rest of you with that, but... I still don't like being blown off. Giving them a 7th chance - made another appt. for next weekend. If he cancels again - that's it!!
