My favorite though was Roger McDowell. Another cutie! But I guess I should really pick my favorite player based on his playing - hee hee. That would be Wally Backman. What a hustler. Or, maybe it was Keith Hernandez. What a glove. Or, maybe it was Ray Knight. What a killer jab - heh heh. Real Mets fans will know what that means.....

I loved Roger McDowell because he had an adorable.....personality!
He had a great personality - we went once to get his autograph at a car showroom, and he was GREAT - he was chatting with everyone and signing autographs....such a sweetheart. I made him a little bracelet, hoping he'd wear it to a game....but he never did.....

Uh i don't think so...i am a true blue fan actually. I was a Wally Backman fan. So when he went so did i!

ETA...if the METS would like to resign him...i might consider being a neutral fan, instead of a MET hater!

I think Wally Backman is a coach for one of their farm teams? Also, the rumor is that gary carter may be the next manager if art howe blows it.

Yeah, he used to have terrible accuracy on throws to first. He was almost as bad as Chuck Knobloch!

hey, if they would have kept my man..
istead of blantantly disgarding him for a pathetic loser like tuffle..hey maybe i would have stayed...but i couldn't stay with a team that makes such HORRIBLE CHOICES!

I wasn't even a Yankee fan, i wouldn't watch basball after Backman stopped playing, it wasn't until my friends father got sick..he was a yankee fan and in his honor we became ones too (when he couldn't go to games anymore, we watched them with him)...which was AFTER they won the World Series!

So if that makes me a turn coat..i could careless!
