It's FH's birthday this weekend... he loves chili. I want to make him some.

My favorite chili is the one I get from the back of the Mexene chili powder bottle. It's really, really good and easy to make. I usually add beans and chorizo and double or triple the other non protein ingredients.
Ingredients:
* 1 lb Ground beef (or browned cubed chuck) * 3/4 c Chopped onion * 1 Clove garlic minced * 2 tb Mexene chili powder * 1 tb Flour * 1 ts Salt * 1/2 ts Ground cumin * 1/2 ts Sugar * 1 can Tomato sauce 8 ounce size * 1 c Water
Instructions:
brown meat onion garlic together then drain excess fat. Stir in remaining ingredients mix well. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.

I make one with with a package of the spices... but whatever you do get bread bowls!! it's the best!! Meatfarms makes this bread made out of pretzel dough. It sounds weird but it's sooo good with chili! They make it the perfect size for individual bread bowls

I usually make turkey chili...
1 lb turkey chop meat 1 lb chicken or turkey sausage (usually like the wheel that I take out of the casing and cook with the chop meat all together with red pepper flakes...we like it hot ) 2 Packets of chili seasoning can of pinto beans (sometimes 2) can of green chilis can of diced tomatoes...

I make turkey chili:
1- 12 oz can diced tomatoes 1 lb ground turkey 1 onion 2 bell peppers 1 can red kidney beans 1 can cannellini beans 1 can chickpeas 1 can corn 2 cloves minced garlic Salt Pepper A pinch of chili powder (I don't really like a lot of spice)
