Curious... Who paid or is paying for your shower??
My friend is in another wedding and is bugging out cause the MOB is making the 4 girls pay for the entire shower!! Is that crazy?

My mom paid for the shower and my girls paid for the bachelorette.

My step-mom is paying.... the bm's should definitely not have to pay, unless of course they want to.

my mom is paying for the place and the bridesmaids are splitting the costs for the favors, invites, and all that misc. stuff.

last wedding I was in we paid for everything -- her family didn't contribute
In the end I think I chipped in like 600 -- but that was my portion of the gift, food, decorations, and my portion of the hall fee
oh, and favors, invites, and postage too

My Mom and Nana are paying for the food/location. My MOH is paying for the invites. The BM's are splitting the remaining cost of the decorations and favors

My mother paid for almost all of it, but my MOH paid for some of the little favors and things. But for the most part my mother footed the bill. FMIL, contributed NADA. b!tch.

Years ago the bride's family was never supposed to pay for the shower (not proper etiquette). It was the responsibility of the bridal party. But that was also when you had the shower in someone's basement and had tea sandwiches. Now with the expense of having it in a restaurant, I wouldn't want my daughter's bridal party to have to pay for it especially as I think it might be a financial struggle for most of them to foot the bill. I expect to be paying for the cost of the party except maybe for invitations and decorations. I'm hoping that they will also plan the activities of the day.
