Who pays for hair and make-up the day of the wedding for the bridal party? Is the bride supposed to pay for the BP?

I know that when my sister got married she payed for a percentage of it but she couldn't afford to pay for everyone. I do not think I can pay for everyone's hair and makeup done. I might give a certain percentage as well but if not I am going to make it completely optional for those who want it!

I've always had to pay for my own hair/makeup as a BM. Although my best friend paid 50 towards each BM to use for either one!

I think the BM's pay for themselves, that's what I've done as a bridesmaid anyway. I'm going to pay $20 toward each of my bridesmaids make-up to lower the price a little.

I've always paid for my hair and makeup to be done and it was optional. I am making it optional for my girls as well. I have 13 girls in my bridal party. I would go broke if I had to pay for all their hair and makeup.

I am going to get my BP gifts, and just cover the tip for hair/makeup. The girls have the option to do hair/makeup as well, because I know 2 of the girls prefer their own hair salon, so they plan on going to the hair place in the morning by themselves, and will just do makeup at my house.

Im having the girls pay for the their own hair and makeup so they don't feel obligated to use whoever I use.

i've always paid for my own hair/make up. I also want toget my girls nice gifts so I cant afford to do that AND pay for their hair & makeup. I think that if I can pull it off I will pay their tips for the hair/makeup. We'll see.

I've only been in 1 wedding (2 as of next Janurary), I paid for my own hair and makeup. For my one friend's wedding, I even paid for anther BMs hair. She gave all the girls options, and this one BM couldn't afford do pay for her hair and she was the only one. I think even though it's optional - it's really not. Just my opinion though!

I do think that most girls expect to pay for their own stuff though!

From what I hear, everyone pays for their own. I may pay for a portion (or all, depending on my budget) of their hair since I want everyone's hair up!

I've paid for my own in 2 previous weddings. I plan on paying for one or the other for my girls..as long as they go with who I prefer (I don't want to pay any outlandish prices). My mom thinks I'm crazy..maybe I'll do half. Who knows!!

This has been a huge source of contention between myself and a few of my friends. Not that we argue about it, but we definitely debate about it!

As of now, I plan to pay at the very least for the tip. I can probably manage to cover the tips for hair and makeup, and that way at least I can give a generous tip (I'm a better tipper than my non-restaurant friends).

If I can manage, and have some extra $, I will include this as part of my gift to my bridesmaids. I am trying to keep it reasonable (under $175 for both), because I don't want to put them out, but this is part of the responsibilities I explained that they have as bridesmaids.

Crashing.... I paid for everyone's makeup (I had 7 girls) and they each covered their hair. I don't think it's necessary by any means to pay for hair/makeup but its a nice gesture if you can swing it

I plan on letting the girls pick which they want me to pay for. I'm offering to pay for one or the other and they can decide to do their own hair or make up. whatevers clever.

I am pretty sure everyone pays for themselves. If you're worried that not everyone can afford it, then make it optional =)

i'm going to be paying for both for my girls- i feel that them being there for me and buying a dress is more than i could ever expect- i have great friends and i want to show them how much i appreciate them! :) so they will be having a glam day the day of the wedding! :) lol they have to pay for their own nails though!! i'm also giving them a nice gift bag at our engagement party to ask them :)

It's bit necessary, but it's a nice gesture if you can fit it in your budget.
