Who Pays for Flower Girls Dresses??

FH and i were discussing who pays for the flower girls/ring bearers outfits? I was under the assumption that the parents of the children paid for their outfits, or am I wrong? Tell me what you ladies think or doing.

Thanks in advance,

Tiffany

Parents of the FG - unless you want it to be your gift. Otherwise the parents pay.

I bought it for our FG because I saw the cutest dress on sale the day after Easter at Macy's that was perfect.

I also bought the tux for our RB.

They were only 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 though so I guess it's different when your kids are older. Plus it was DH's niece and nephew and I wanted to help my SIL out.

i don't think the dresses will be too expensivve so I am really going to try to pay for them, but typically the parents do.

Typically the parents of the FG pay. However in my case, my mom has offered to pay.

I paid because I found them at a GREAT price! The Mom's REALLY appreciated it.

If you can afford $20-$30 (seriously...they can be that inexpensive), it's a nice gift and it's really appreciated.

Typically though, the parents should expect to pay.

I guess it really depends on the price of the dress you find. In bridal salons, these flower girl dresses can be in the range of $200 and up. If that were the case, I would pay for the dress even though tradition is that the FG's parents pay for it.
If the dress is a more modest price point then perhaps its more reasonable to expect the parents of the FG to pay.

i would say the parent, but I got my FG dresses from Burlington and they were like $25 so i was going to pay for them - but the mother wouldn't let me!!!!!

I think traditionally it's the parents of the FG but I'm not sure.

In our case, we are paying for the the FG and 2 RBs because we want to.

MY FG dresses were less than $50. I was willing to pay. but FSIL paid for it and ordered it instead. So for us it was the parents of the FG.

I have 2 FG's actually and the parents of each one paid.

Generally, I would assume the parents of the FG would pay for the dress, but I don't think it's crazy for the bride/groom or parents thereof to offer to pay either. However, if they don't offer, then I'd say the parents should assume that responsibility from the get go.

I've always assumed it's the parents of the FG.

In my case, we'll probably split the costs since our 2 FGs are the children of one of our GM who happens to be an almost single parent (minimal support from the kids' mom) so I'll probably split it to help him out
