I got an RSVP back from some friends of FH. They made their own box- maybe!! and checked that off! They wrote next to the maybe that they are trying to see if they can get airline tickets. They've had the invite for about a month now and we sent them an engagement announcement last fall letting them know an October 2007 wedding was planned and they still don't know what they are doing?? Ugh.

Me too...FH's family is all 'off the boat' italian so I am afraid of what we'll get back....They don't really get the whole american wedding thing (even though its been over 30 years that they've been here!....Guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks! haha)

That is ridiculous - maybe they want you to cover the cost of flights? is that why they threw it out there? you never know with people!!
I got one that said just me for now but count it as 2 because I will most likely bring someone. 'most likely' is very costly for me if you decide that night not to bring someone! never in my life!

Wow people are funny. You should tell FH to call them and tell them you need to know by such and such date. I know a lot of people send back the card and don't check anything. But, I never heard a maybe.

i would call them and tell them u need to know by the rsvp date to tell the hall how many people. if they cant decide by then...oh well sorry you cant come! lol but thats just me i dont like to deal with that crap!

I read this yesterday and I have been telling people this story over and over again. Our RSVP date is Friday and I am probably going to have to make like 50 phone calls. If I get a maybe I am going to be pissed!!!! I know that upset you but your story has made me laugh for 2 days now. Thanks for sharing, people are sometimes so special in a short bus kind of way.
