The guest (whats his name.????) said Bill isnt From Levittown he's from Westbury. And then Jay goes but he says hes form Levittown which is a poor neighborhood

I have seen cars parked on the front lawn- mutiple, old appliances on the front lawn, its like they used thier front lawn as a junk yard, Im not saying all of levittown is like this- I am saying that is what I have seen um just today in fact, and said to myself what is wrong with people- it lowers the value of other homeowners trying to keep thier properties manicured. and again Im not saying ALL of levittown is like this. but I do know that when you mention levittown unfortunately it has a bad rap. Unfortunately. Not my opinion though -levittown was my neighbor town for over 25 yrs I grew up in Wantagh. I have friends in levittown and north wantagh which are levit homes too.

So no one in ure town puts their old stove outside when they get a new one? Maybe they where waiting for special pickup to come get it. I live in Bellmore and there is a house that has 4 cars parked on the grass with grass so high you can't see them. Its not just levittown

Just my opinion here .. but I don't think girlygrl33 was implying this only happens in Levittown. Seems to me she's just sharing her viewpoint .. which everyone here is entitled to do.

I think by this point, we all understand your feeling .. and understandably, you are very loyal to your community .. but people should be able to express their views freely, and it didn't seem to me as though girlygrl33 was making up her observations. Maybe she can provide you with some actual addresses next time she goes through the area.

There are a lot of things people say that are not 'okay.' People (in general) are very judgmental .. and always looking to make comparisons, especially when they can put themselves above others, in some way.

Stop and think about all the opinions that get thrown around here when someone asks about specific towns .. and/or school districts .. people are not shy about passing along their views .. and I'd bet most have no actual experience with the neighborhoods they speak of .. other than 'reputation' or some silly statistics.

Seriously, it's not worth getting all worked up over. You deserve to be happier rather than wasting your energy defending a town you love.

Ure right but all I did was post how pissed off I was that Leno went on TV for millions to see and called Levittown a poor neighborhood that its not. He probably has never even been here before. Thats all that I was saying. Then people called it Whitetrash. U could tell I was pissed off about it. If you thought that why would u say things and not expect me to say something back? Whatever.....

I know the whole thread .. I've been following it .. all I was trying to say is that I think you're wasting your energy .. people's opinions are what they are .. I'm just beginning to think you're taking all the remarks too personally, and being dragged down .. be happy with your town .. and consider others as having missed out.

I am also a Queens girl. Originally from Woodhaven, just moved to Franklin Square in Feb. I have also heard Levittown referred to as the White Trash capital of LI. I could never understand that and have never quite received a response to my questions. I also work in Westbury and have seen some very lovely homes in the area that I can only dream of someday affording for my own.

I guess to celebrities who now own million dollar homes on more acreage than their egos can handle, little LI homes just don't compare for them any longer!

wait im confused didnt you say you live in levittown near gardiners? I said old appliances on thier LAWN not thier curb big difference!!!!

This wasnt a personal attack that I think you are taking it as. All I said from the beginning is how I think I know why people refer to levittown as white trash- which someone on the thread had said- because of the evidence I have seen and not once but for over 25 yrs. Sorry if you think it was a personal attack on levittown, it wasnt.

Whatever this thread is over to. I woke up this morning in a good mood. Want to stay that way all day. Gotta be at work at 12 then going to my FIL house cause he is moving to Florida. That is the last family member my husband has living here. Over ok .
