Who should I use for makeup?

I really don't know much... so, please post your trials, who they were with and if you have it, the pricing information or a website. Thanks!!

Also- how far in advance do you usually book makeup?

I am using Oksana. She is WONDERFUL!
They book up pretty far in advance, so I dont think its ever too early to start doing trials!
She is a vendor on here so if you go under vendors and then makeup, it has her website, and email address.

I have a trial with Oksana tomorrow, I will let you know how it goes

I was just looking at the JN website and I noticed she does the trial for free?? Has anyone done that? I guess it's worth it!! BUT does she travel to your house the day of?

My trial was free...I opted to get the air brush so that was an addtional $20 I think?

And yes she comes to you the day of, she only does one wedding a day so shes yours for as long as you need her...
My trial was about 1 & 1/2 hrs too!

Where is she in Smithtown? Anywhere near the mall? Is it her house or an office? For free- it's worth a shot!!! :) Whats the difference with the airbrush foundation?

Shes pretty close to the mall...Off of Old Nichols Rd and very close to Portion Rd in Ronkonkoma...About 1 mile from mall...
She does it in her office she has downstairs from her parents house ( HUGE BEAUTIFUL HOUSE)

The airbrush stays on longer and can hide a lot of imperfections that regular foundation cannot. The day of my trial, I had a huge hive forming..lol..under my eye and you couldnt see it when she was done..It also lasts longer...At ten o clock that night, it still looked like it was just done....some people dont like the airbrushing though...It covers imperfections but it seems like the oily skinned people or those with irritable skin didnt like it...I have normal clear skin..BUT I do tend to get oily so I'm just going to get those paper you use ( blotting papers)...

If you dont get through to her for an appointment over the phone, she checks her e-mail a lot and we actually set up the appointment thru e-mail after playing phone tag a lot

Arent all trials free? I would never make an appt w/ someone if they charge for a trial? Thats insane----if they want your business, they should do it free, then charge you for the booking!

I think some people have to charge for their time ya know? Years ago no-body even DID trials and now that we have become obsessed with it all..lol( me included) can you imagine all the trials some people ( the better ones) would give out and if they dont make any money from it, they might not be able to do it in the future ya know? I'm glad mine was free but I gave her a big tip because I actually felt bad...

I used Jillian from Gorgeous Faces. She was awesome. She did me, my Mom, MOH and some BM - everyone loved her. She did an awesome job and the was a doll to work with!

And yes you have to pay for trials (hair and makeup). I think its fair - this is their job. They get paid for what they do and for their time. If they didn't charge for trials, they'd have to hike up their day-of prices to compensate.

I agree with SeptemberBride03, they are using their supplies and their time. Can you imagine how much loss they would absorb if trials were free? I am sure some brides would have more trials in the search for the perfect look.
