Ditto - the person who walks the bride down the aisle. Then usually the MOH fixes it so it doesn't look funny.

Actually there are 2 ways this could be done.

1) The person who walks the bride down the aisle can lift the blusher when they give the bride away, usually with a peck on the cheek.
or
2) When the bride is given away and the blusher is lifted it can be put back and the bride wears it for the entire ceremony. Then the groom can lift it and place it behind her for their first kiss.

My FH will remove it before the kiss. So I'll have it on for the whole ceremony.

good question..I was wondering the same thing...I've heard brides say their FH does it and other say whoever walks them down the aisle...but if either way is ok, I think I'm gonna have my dad do it.

Both my parents walked me down. My dad lifted the blusher up and my mom made sure it was smoothed down in the back.

The person who walks u down the aisle. Mine wsnt just a blusher veil. It was a 2 tier veil, so it was pver my face. So I didnt need or had t have a blusher veil.

Really? I always thought the dad or whoever gives her away lifts it and kisses her, then smoothes it back down and at end of the ceremony it is husband who lifts it back for good. Hmm lol guess I was wrong!

OK so I had to be neurotic and look up etiquette LOl found this great site with bridal myths 'revealed' and truths told. Anyway this is what it said about the blusher-pretty funny. Must have been a lot of shocked grooms in the old days! Might have to put this in my 'weddign Trivi' portion of our newsletter.

TRUE

Blusher veils, along with orange blossoms and trains, symbolize virginity. Therefore, only first-time brides with no children should wear them. In the days of arranged marriages, blusher veils served a number of purposes. A blusher prevented the groom from calling off the wedding if his bride was less than attractive. Since her face was not revealed until after the vows were said, it was a simple way to marry off an unattractive daughter. The blusher also showed the world the bride was indeed a virgin, since her virginity was verified by physical examination. She could not wear a blusher otherwise. Her mother and priest were the last people to see her unmarried and untouched. Her mother would lower the veil, she would walk down the aisle and vows would be said. Her husband and priest were the first to see the newly married woman.
